Our current Ambulatory Cardiac Unit has 15 private rooms that serve as the prep and recovery unit for outpatients undergoing cardiovascular studies and we are in the process of building 15 additional ACU rooms, increasing our capacity to serve our community and patients.
ACU is equipped with integrated monitors that communicate with the EMR - less time spent charting equates to more time to interact with the patients and their families. This position is responsible for direct care of outpatients who are having a procedure in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The RN assists in the orientation of new staff and clinical supervision of nursing students. This position has exposure to blood and bodily fluids. The RN may be required to function as the charge nurse. Majority of time is spent standing and/or walking for short distances (up to 60% of work time), with frequent lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 100 lbs. (up to 30% of work time).
Arkansas RN licensure. Current BCLS, current ACLS or obtained within 1 year.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and licensed to work in the state of Arkansas. This position also requires the completion of basic dysrhythmia as well as a certification in BLS and ACLS or obtained within 1 year.
