This position is responsible for day to day maintenance and revision of McKesson/Star, Passport, Cerner, integrated testing of interface functions and registration applications in both Cerner and STAR. Responsible for testing of STAR STI’s for the admissions application. Coordinating education and training for Admissions staff of system changes for both STAR and Cerner, Admissions staff training on all policies and procedures. Assisting with updating existing departmental policies, procedures and training documents including procedure manuals to reflect system changes. The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Admitting AD and Supervisor in daily training of Admissions staff and in ensuring that staff maintains a level that is compliant to departmental standards. The majority of work time is spent sitting (up to 60% of work time), with frequent walking of short distances (up to 30% of work time.)
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED A minimum of an associate’s degree in computer services is preferred, but will consider a candidate with a minimum of two years healthcare related software application experience as an end user or trainer in lieu of a degree. Knowledgeable of MS Office applications with ability to train others on these applications. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Must possess the ability to alter training techniques to suit technical and non-technical users. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and appropriately prioritize tasks are required. Positive customer service skills are essential.
